Learn how to integrate AltTextAI with your WordPress website to automatically generate SEO-optimized alt text for your images.

Installation

  1. Download the AltTextAI plugin from the WordPress plugin directory
  2. Upload and activate the plugin through your WordPress admin panel
  3. Go to Settings → AltTextAI to configure your API key
  4. Enter your API key from your AltTextAI dashboard

Configuration

Navigate to Settings → AltTextAI to configure the following options:

API Key

Enter your AltTextAI API key to enable the plugin functionality.

Auto Generate

Enable/disable automatic alt text generation when new images are uploaded.

Media Library Integration

Show/hide the generate button in the media library interface.

Alt Text Language

Choose the default language for generated alt texts.

Bulk Generator

The bulk generator allows you to process multiple images at once:

  1. Go to AltTextAI → Bulk Generator in your WordPress admin menu
  2. Choose which images to process:
    • Only images without alt text
    • All images
    • Process based on available credits
  3. Click "Start Generation" to begin the process
  4. Monitor progress and view results in real-time

Generation History

View your alt text generation history:

  • Go to AltTextAI → History in your WordPress admin menu
  • View details for each processed image:
    • Image thumbnail and filename
    • Generated alt text
    • Generation date
    • Status and any error messages

Credits Management

Monitor and manage your API credits:

  • View available credits in the settings page
  • Check credit usage in the generation history
  • Purchase additional credits when needed
  • Automatic credit checks before processing images
